SCOPE:

To build various Semi-Auto weld stations to perform welding on Rotary Drill bits, These bits are used in Mining Industry and are heavy in sizes for handling.

EXISTING PROCESS:

The Current Process involves manually handling of products to achieve required weld position. Once the product is set to a required position, operator proceeds with welding operation.

CHALLENGES:

Product being heavy in weight, makes it difficult to handle manually.
The proposed station has to accommodate all product variants from 137mm to 580mm in height.
The weld stations have also be ergonomically accessible to all weld locations.
